Solar irradiation, the unsuspected dynamic of the extraterrestrial organic matter evolution

October 2015

The origin of the water and of the organic matter on Earth, essential ingredients in the emergence of the life, constitute a major question for the scientific community. To redraw this origin, it is necessary to plunge into the “archives” of our solar system. Among them, the hydrogen isotopic signature constitute one of the “fingerprints” of the big chemical reservoirs of the solar system. Researchers from the lille university (among them our colleague Hervé Vezin), the sorbonnes universities and the CNRS have demonstrated that the “young ” sun irradiations could have modified the organic matter inside the protosolar disc.

This study is published in the Nature Communications revue from the 13rd of octobre 2015.
